About the Artist

The more observant among you will forgive me for posting a photo of a lighthouse that is not, in fact, on Cape Cod — but it was my turn to be a tourist in St. Augustine, Florida!

Hi! I’m Kiki, the artist behind everything here at Tourist Economy.

I’m a Provincetown townie, professional illustrator and certified beach bum. I’ve been drawing pictures since I first learned to hold a crayon, and in 2011 I received my BFA from the School of Visual Arts Cartooning & Illustration program in New York City.

In 2015, I moved to Provincetown, MA, and became what is known in local Cape Cod parlance as a washashore (a person who was not born or raised on Cape, but “washed ashore” later in life and made it their home). In 2024, I officially unveiled “Tourist Economy”, a lighthearted take on traditional kitschy souvenirs and beach town art, motivated by my love for the natural beauty of the Outer Cape, the wildlife of the National Seashore, and our quaint and quirky shops, eateries, and watering holes.

When I’m not drawing, you can find me kayaking in Provincetown Harbor, sunbathing (or perhaps more accurately, sunburning) on the shores of Long Point Beach, or tending bar at Commercial Street’s most infamous dive, The Old Colony Tap. Thanks for checking out my work, and I hope you’ll enjoy my creations as much as I enjoyed making them!

FAQ: “Do you take commissions? I have an idea for a t-shirt / album art / children’s book; can I hire you to draw it?”

Generally speaking, I don’t have availability for commissions or new projects due to schedule constraints; however, it doesn’t hurt to ask. If you have a request that aligns nicely with what I’m already doing, I may be willing to make an exception. Send inquires to:
